Collider has announced Blumhouse is remaking Firestarter. Akiva Goldman (writer, The Dark Tower) will be directing, while Universal will be producing it.
I guess this announcement brings up the “remakes suck” argument. While I usually am not in favor of a classic film being remade, for example, why would anyone ever fuck with the Rocky Horror Picture Show? We do live in America and ultimately I’m cool with anyone doing as they wish, as long as they aren’t hurting anyone. AKA, the “golden rule”. So whatever, remake Firestarter. In my opinion the 80s movie sucked anyways. I’ve never seen all of it, I always got bored with Drew Barrymore trying to act all pyro-weird and stuff.
